Bill Nelson is the senior U.S. Senator from Florida and a member of the
Democratic Party. He became the second sitting member of the United States
Congress to fly in space when he flew abroad the Space Shuttle Columbia
as a Payload Specialist during a NASA mission in 1986.
Chris Weinke is a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. He played
college football at Florida State and won the 2000 Heisman Trophy.
Danny Wuerffel won the 1996 Heisman Trophy while leading the
University of Florida to a national championship. He is the son
of a military chaplain and is renowned for his character on and
off the field.
Emmitt Smith is a former Gator and NFL football player who
played for the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals. He is a
three-time Super Bowl champion and the NFL's all time leading
rushing leader. He earned his degree from the University of
Florida, where he still holds 58 school records for football.
In 2006, Emmitt and his dance partner were crowned the champions
of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars.
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band got its start 1966, and went on to
record such hits as "Mr. Bojangles". It was the first American
group to tour the former USSR and continuing making hit recordings,
winning a 2005 Grammy for Best Country Instrumental for
"Earl's Breakdown". Jeff Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter and
John McEuen are the four remaining original band members who
continue to tour the country.
State Senator Stephen Oelrich served as Sheriff of Alachua
County from 1992 until his election to the State Senate in 2006.
Prior to being elected sheriff, this Florida native was a special
agent for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in Miami's
Organized crime Bureau, as well as special assignments in
Tallahassee and Gainesville. He is a member of numerous professional
and community organizations, and sits on the University of Florida
Organ Procurement Organization Advisory Board.
Zach Johnson played #2 on his Drake University golf team in Iowa
and led the team to three NCAA regional meets and two Missouri
Valley championships. He turned professional in 1998. He won
his first PGA tour event in 2004. In 2007, he won the Masters
Tournament in Augusta, GA.
As lead guitarist, founding member and primary songwriter of
the Bon Jovi band, Richie Sambora has played a lot of
guitars-acquiring 120 in his personal collection.
Sambora has donated this signature black and white Fender guitar,
signed Richie Sambora 2008, to be auctioned at ViVA! 2008.
Now in his 12th season as head coach of the University of Florida
men's basketball team, Billy Donovan led the Gators to back-to-back
national championships in 2006 and 2007. He is one of only two
people ever to serve as head coach in a Final Four, as an assistant
coach in a Final Four and reach the Final Four as a player.
Furthermore, he is one of only five coaches to have reached the
Final Four both as a head coach and as a player.
Bobby Bowden - Bobby Bowden has been the head football coach of
Florida State University for 32 years. In addition to winning
two national championships, he holds the Division 1A record for
the most wins by a coach.
David Reutimann is a NASCAR driver. He drives the #00 Aaron's
Toyota Camry for Michael Waltrip Racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup
Series and the #99 Aaron's Toyota Camry in the Busch Series.

Championship and later the BCS National Championship. He became
the seventh coach in NCAA history to win a national championship
